Making sure my paper is in MLA format is the easiest part of writing an essay in my opinion. When I first started off, I hardly even knew how to do MLA format. My old teachers always said our papers needed to be in MLA format, but we were never really taught how to do that. I didn’t even know you needed the page number and last name on every page. After we took part of a class to go over it, it was easy. The most difficult thing to remember for me is just making sure I site the authors name and page number, which I feel I did accurately in my paper. For example, Pollan states, “it didn’t take long for me to realize Julia Child had improved the quality of life around our house” (Pollan 1). I had to make sure to put the authors name and page number in parenthesis, with a period on the outside of the parenthesis. Another part of this is being sure to not put a period after the quote and before the parenthesis. This then lead to good MLA formatting.
